Which side of the road do you drive on?
The left, in both the U.S. and British Virgin Islands, even though most cars have the steering wheel on the left like on the mainland. Take the hills and hairpin turns slowly.
Can I bring a rental car over from St. Thomas?
A car barge runs between Red Hook on St. Thomas and Cruz Bay. Many St. Thomas rental companies do not allow their cars on it, so check first, or rent on St. John.
Should I book ahead?
Yes, especially from December to April. St. John has a limited number of rental vehicles and they sell out in busy weeks.
